4 Weeks

The time has flown by! I've noticed it does that occasionally. I've thoroughly enjoyed my time as a mother of two, but it still surprises me how much I do not get accomplished. I have oodles of goals every morning when I wake up, but it's amazing how tired I get. I choose to nap instead of accomplish things, mainly because I know my days of mid-day napping will come to an end in about two weeks.

Paul finally opens his eyes during his awake time. He was one of those babies who slept for 23 hours a day . . . not kidding. I'm not sure I believed those kinds of babies really existed, but now I do. He started being more alert around two weeks. Now he is able to stay awake. He still wakes twice most nights to eat, but he goes right back to sleep, so it's not too bad.

My boys - Paul is about 2 weeks old

We have had visits from several relatives. My mom has come twice. The first time was right after Paul was born, then she came last weekend with my sister-in-law. More on that later. We were also visited by Kyle's parents, who came down to pick up our niece, Ivory. Ivory lives in New Mexico, but came to Utah with her mother's parents to visit some relatives. Kyle's parents picked her up and came to visit us. Becca loved having her over. Ivory was so good at playing with Becca. It brought back fond memories of playing with cousins when I was little.

Occasionally, when I'm trying to keep Paul awake, I take his picture. This is a picture right at two weeks. I love this little boy.

While my mom and sister-in-law, Becky, were here, we painted a new room for Becca so that by the time we're ready to move Paul into the baby room, she hopefully won't mind. This is her "princess" room. The only thing truly princess-y about it is her Disney Princesses bedspread. But it is pretty and pink and it has some Tinkerbell stickers on a wall since Becca wanted princesses and Tinkerbell.
We were originally going to rag all four walls, then thought it might be overwhelming, so we did two ragged walls and two striped walls. We like the effect so far.

I'm still working on finishing a few decorations, but the hard part is finished and Becca loves it.

Two more weeks until I have to return to work. We'll see how much I can accomplish in that time. My main goal is to establish a routine that will allow me to keep my house clean and functioning. I'll be experimenting with freezer cooking a bit, and I've created a weekly cleaning plan so that the work hopefully won't pile up. Oh, and I have to finish Paul's blessing outfit, as we plan to bless him right after I return to work. Good times.
