In September, my brother came down for a visit and we all decided to go fishing. I haven't renewed my fishing license for a while, and didn't bother to do so this time since I knew I would spend quite a bit of time with Becca on the playground. One of our favorite spots to go fishing is at Salem pond. It has a small dock that Kyle can fish off of and a playground to entertain Becca. After I got tired of chasing Becca around, we went back to the dock for a snack. Kyle had brought an ice fishing pole (they're very small) for Becca to use. He baited it and cast it for Becca, not expecting anything to happen. A few minutes later, the tip of the pole started dipping. Kyle called Becca over and helped her reel in a fish. She was not a fan. She was fine helping to reel it in, but once the fish surfaced, she wanted nothing to do with it. As soon as it was on the dock, she started screaming and trying to back away. We insisted on getting a picture of her and the fish, which we barely managed because Becca was leaning as far away from it as possible.
(I really need to remember to load the pictures in reverse order)
A week or so earlier, Kyle wanted to go for a walk in the canyon. We took our dogs, blankets, sweatshirts and some firewood. After taking a small hike, we found a fire pit and sat around the fire for a little while.
